Drop Off / Pickup - The Movie

Traffic & Safety

  • Student safety is our top priority. Please follow traffic rules even if it feels inconvenient, streets and parking lots can be busy.

  • Street parking is allowed on both sides of S. Hackberry St. in front of the school. Do not block driveways or intersections.

  • Students are encouraged to walk or bike with a buddy when weather permits.

  • All traffic is one-way. Enter via the east entrance and proceed through the drop-off lane or parking lot.


Arrival

  • Students may enter the building at 8:30 a.m. (Soft Start). Staff supervision begins at this time.

  • Students line up outside daily and must be in their classrooms by 8:40 a.m. Tardies are not excused due to traffic.

  • Inclement weather (below 20°F, heavy rain, or snow): students may enter at 8:30 a.m. and go directly to their classrooms.

  • Light rain or snow: students line up outside. Dress appropriately for the weather.


Drop-Off: Dos & Don’ts

DO:

  • Arrive early to reduce congestion.

  • Use Front or West Kiss-n-Go lanes (kiss and go).

  • Students exit on passenger side only onto the sidewalk.

  • Move to the left lane to pull out safely.

  • Drive slowly and watch for traffic.

DO NOT:

  • Park or get out of your car in the drop-off lane.

  • Wait for the entrance to let your child out; they can exit anywhere along the sidewalk.

  • Speed through the lane.


Pick-Up: Dos & Don’ts

DO:

  • Pull all the way forward in the lane.

  • Have your child meet you at the car on the passenger side.

  • Pull out using the left lane.

  • Move forward when space is available; you may skip ahead to open spots.

DO NOT:

  • Speed through the lane.

  • Use the parking lot for pick-up unless parked.

  • Leave your car unattended in the pick-up lane.


Walkers & Bike Riders

  • Stay on sidewalks or bike lanes.

  • Cross streets only at supervised crosswalks (supervision starts at 8:20 a.m.).

  • Walk bikes and scooters on school property. Riding between students is unsafe.
